Good old South Africa

I would have given it 5, because of the research and depth. But, for my money....way too political. Good old South Africa, getting kicked around still.
The author would have done better to seek out better rugby insights and stories, that had not previously seen the light of day from that tour.
He could also have spent more time on ALL the players, and how they felt....and have faired since.
99 % of protesters back then could not even find the continent of Africa on a map, let alone know what they were talking about.
And what about the ills of the rest of the world? How come guys like John Taylor would play against Romania but not SA?
How come the sporting contact with Russia, China etc? Australia.....USA?...India...all of whom have heavy COVERT apartheid in place....and certainly back then.
And only the Brits could write rugby books, where they are proud to go around punching and kicking all comers. If a South African or All Black had to write such a book, woe betide. And all hell breaks loose when the Poms are on the receiving end.
