About the Author
John Osarenren, received his PHd in agricultural engineering in 1989 from the Byelorussian University of Agricultural Mechanization, in Minsk, USSR, and his M.SC. (Agricultural Engineering) in 1986. He is currently a member of the Integrated Agricultural and Industrial Consultancy, New York, USA. He is a member of the American society Of Agricultural Engineers, Michigan, USA, and the Society of Reliability Maintenance Professionals, Georgia, USA.

The book introduces and explains the concept of the transfer of Technology Inheritance (TI) across the life cycle of industrial plant. Since every item of equipment is manufactured, each step in the manufacturing process of the equipment's parts embeds a signature of itself in the equipment that affects the equipment's subsequent use. The problem or defect created when a manufacturing step goes wrong is transferred into the part and to the future operation of the equipment. Each error or adverse consequence event done to a component produces a risk of future production failures under certain circumstances.
The book provides and explains a process called 'Integrated Reliability Condition Monitoring and Maintenance' (IRCMM) that monitors and tracks the various processes used on a component during its life cycle for risks of defect creation. Where a risk arises the causes of a defect can be identified and addressed in order to get maximum reliability during the service life of the asset.
The book contains many useful insights into the risks and hazards caused by component manufacturing to the use of the final equipment in a production plant. There is a large amount of math used to explain the foundation concepts of IRCMM. Many of the concepts related to TI are novel and the explanations are challenging to read and understand.
Regardless of the difficulties in understanding the technicalities and the math behind measuring the effects of TI, the book soundly explains why manufacturing and maintenance processes cause latent plant and equipment reliability problems. IRCMM gives you a new way to predict and quantity the risk to production operations from all the events that happened during the life cycle of a production asset.
