About the Author
Trail Name “Bravo.” The author is a retired Air Force Colonel, living near the Pacific Northwest Trail (PNT) for about 10 years. He first became interested in hiking and backpacking 50 years ago with a 10-day hike in mountains of New Mexico. He has sectioned hiked many parts of the PNT and plans to document the many trails within the Colville National Forest and the Salmo-Priest Wilderness in northeastern Washington State. He loves to explore and travel, as well as photography and an interest in historical maps. Five world-class, long-distance hikers have contributed their timely observations and stories about the Pacific Northwest Trail. There couldn't be a more accurate description of this challenging trail providing the guide for future hikers to follow their footsteps.

If you plan to hike the Pacific Northwest Trail, this book is a must. It has the most current information of anything out there, and includes way points, trail descriptions, helpful hints for getting on and off the trail and alternative route information. Youngbluth has created a great resource, using the personal notes of past hikers, two of whom hiked the trail in 2012. The book is organized a bit like a "Yogi" type trail handbook, and at only $10.00 is very affordable. The ability to download it to a kindle makes it very "hiker friendly," in my opinion.

expect this to be a big help

i just received a hardcopy of this book and it seems well put together. for 10$ it is a steal. the only problem i can see with it so far is the misspellings which are easy to see through especially when you take into account that bravo tried to get this first version out before the hiking season with enough time to allow people to use it for planning. i cant speak for the whole book on accuracy for descriptions of the trail but the book is accurate with the 250 miles i have done so far. he does a good job of crediting others who provide trail information. im planning for a 2 week, 220 mile section in june 2013 and so far the book has given more information than a topographical map could and mentions things you would want to take into great consideration such as stretches without water sources and recommendations from other hikers like where to camp or where not to. if you are split between getting this book to help your planning or not getting it, go ahead and get it. like i said, at $10 it is a steal that probably only covers the cost of materials. making the purchase would honor him for all his hard work and effort that he has done for the trail and the trail community. bravo, Bravo.

Great Family Friendly Siddur!

I am excited to have purchased this tonight at Amazon. I know the author and she is a Godly wise woman. The prayers are in English and I really appreciate the scripture references with each prayer. This would be great to bring up on my phone and have a quick reference for the prayers I haven't quite committed to memory. I could see how this Siddur is very friendly and not intimidating for those just entering into exploring the traditional liturgy. Awesome!

Great beginners siddur

Great siddur for the beginner as it is in english, so knowing hebrew is not required. It has many of the prayers common in a traditional diffuse to help you get used to the flow of a siddur. It has some prayers for Shabbat dinner service as well as the backlash ceremony to close out the Shabbat. Also included is the aliens, Our Father in heaven, prayer. I bought it for my kindle to be easily taken with me when I travel.

excellent/must read book

Some add info for us pontooner! I had some damage to my original copy of "Float Smart" so I purchase a new copy. Much to my delite everything inside is now in color. All of the pictures and diagrams are much easier to view and visualize than the old copy that was in black and white. I ended up re-reading the whole book and it seems to make it easier to understand for some reason with the colored pictures. It was a surprise to me when it arrived so I would like to recommend spending a couple of bucks and purchase the colorized version of "Float Smart" I think you will enjoy it and I personally recommend the purchase!!!

This is the first time that I have ever done a book review but after I purchased T.E. Lewis's book "Float Smart" I wanted to pass the info to fellow rafters/pontooner or at least make all aware of the book. An excellent read for the outdoors man who is either considering inflatable pontoon boating or is already a pontooner as I am. The book contains a lot of valuable information that I have never considered while pontooning. While I am an eastener pontooner floating smaller rivers I still can apply many of Mr. Lewis's helpful advise to my circumstances/conditions. I have found it a very easy read and easy to understand. I think it is a valuable guide/manual to have and have made it part of my rafting gear. In short if you are a beginner or experienced rafter/pontooner you must read this book. I can't say enough about this book but it is a must have/read. The rivers always change, even overnight so stay safe out there! Thank you Mr. Lewis! five star rating!

A MOTHER IS.....

Great book for preschoolers. Huss explains how all living creatures have a mother. Using simple illustrations, children learn about different animals and where each mother raises her young. Children are taught how they look different physically: some are big, others are little, some have tails, others do not, some have spots and others have whiskers. Then Huss goes on to name the different kinds of mothers like birth mothers, adoptive mothers, stepmothers, foster mothers and grandmothers. She lists the different roles a mother plays like feeding, nurturing, protecting, and teaching how to get along with others. What does she ask in return? Only that children express love and gratitude in return.

I think this book packs a lot of teachable information in a short book. It certainly would brighten a mom's day.

Mothers are Priceless

Yes, everyone does have a mother and hopefully many mothers will read this story to their children. My daughter loved going through all of the list of animal babies with their mothers. It is a wonderful idea to plant in a child -- this idea that each and every being is loved and cared for by its mother. She enjoyed the colorful illustrations and I know we will read this book often.

"Everyone Has a Mother" is beautifully illustrated with fun pictures kids love. The topic of adoption is woven in so gracefully - the importance of listening and thanking your mom is perfectly given!

This book is a must by for every mom! Teach your kids young that mom's are important and should be listened to with delightful story!

About the Author
William K. Kershner: William K. Kershner (1930-2007) began flying in 1945 at the age of fifteen, washing and propping airplanes to earn flying time. By this method he obtained the private, then the commercial and flight instructor certificates, becoming a flight instructor at nineteen. He spent four years as a naval aviator, most of the time as a pilot in a night fighter squadron, both shore and carrier based. He flew nearly three years as a corporation pilot and for four years worked for Piper Aircraft Corporation, demonstrating airplanes to the military, doing experimental flight-testing, and acting as special assistant to William T. Piper, Sr., president of the company.

Bill Kershner held a degree in technical journalism from Iowa State University. While at the university he took courses in aerodynamics, performance, and stability and control. He held the airline transport pilot, commercial, and flight and ground instructor certificates and flew airplanes ranging from 40-hp Cubs to jet fighters. He is the author of The Student Pilot's Flight Manual, The Instrument Flight Manual, The Advanced Pilot's Flight Manual, The Flight Instructor's Manual, and The Basic Aerobatic Manual.

Kershner operated an aerobatics school in Sewanee, Tennessee using a Cessna 152 Aerobat. He received the General Aviation Flight Instructor of the Year Award, 1992, at the state, regional and national levels. The Ninety-Nines awarded him the 1994 Award of Merit. In 1998 he was inducted into the Flight Instructor Hall of Fame, in 2002 was installed in the Tennessee Aviation Hall of Fame, and in 2006 was inducted into the International Aerobatic Club Hall of Fame.

William C. Kershner: William C. Kershner was soloed by his father, W.K. Kershner, and holds Flight Instructor and Airline Transport Pilot certificates and has flown 22 types of airplanes in his over 10,000 hours of flight time ranging from Cessna 150s to Boeing 777s. He now is editor of his father's "Flight Manuals" textbook series.

Great story simply written that will show children the need to think of others while educating about Down Syndrome.

The author, Richard Carlson Jr., gave me a copy of this novel in exchange for my review.

“Freddie Teased about Jaheem’s Down Syndrome” is a sweet story simply written. Freddie, a young man of undetermined age, knows that teasing Adisa about Jaheem would not be the nice thing to do. Carlson writes Freddie with a humanity and gentleness that will lead readers to hope that when their children find themselves in such situations they’ll reply with the same openness and humility.

Kevin Carlson’s illustrations are simple but effective. “Freddie Teased about Jaheem’s Down Syndrome” is an early reader style book and the illustrations help readers visualize the characters. There is an illustration of an anatomically correct heart heading the expository paragraphs while a baseball mitt heads the active portion. Jaheem’s mother is shown with a kind and friendly smile.

“Freddie Teased about Jaheem’s Down Syndrome” is a perfect classroom book to introduce young readers to Down Syndrome and universal thinking.
