The Front Nine

I downloaded on my wife's Kindle and read the book in one sitting. The author did a wonderful job of bringing in his own life experiences and matching it with "how to play" through out.
I believe it was a first book and highly recommend it for an example of life and combining it with the teaching of golf.

What a perfect Graduation or Father's Day Gift!!

I just finished this wonderful book and just can't say enough about it. The book was so touching and entertaining. I did not want to put it down! Before I read it, I was unsure whether it would appeal to anyone outside of the golf world, but it exceeded my expectations! I am going to be buying several copies for upcoming graduations I am attending and for some of the great dads in my circle of friends for Father's Day. The book itself is a lovely mixture of great life lessons from the author to his son combined with well explained golf lessons. You cannot help but like the frank honesty and beautiful expression in this book, and the author more than delivers on his intent to provide his son with helpful advice he can use throughout life. Lessons anyone would do well to remember! I would recommend it highly. A perfect gift, too!

The Front Nine is a fantastic book!

Before finishing the intro where Tim writes a three page letter to his son, I knew I had to read his book. I felt compelled to read his letter to my wife; she too was deeply moved.
As a father of two, ages 8 and 5, this letter hit me between the eyes. Sometimes an author's style resonates with you to the point where in the first 30 seconds, you know you are going to enjoy reading his or her work. That was my experience, and after reading it cover to cover in a very short period of time, my instincts proved correct.
What I love most about Tim's book is that he gives excellent, real life examples of basic principles that he is committed to sharing with his son. I love the way he communicates these ideas to his son - sheer honesty and a willingness to admit to his own mistakes.
Playing fair, the golden rule, having perspective in times of adversity, your mind is a superpower, don't worry about the opinions of others - these are all nice phrases, but in and of themselves, they don't mean much. Tim brings profound meaning to each of these concepts through real-life examples.
I will re-read The Front Nine many times, and I will be ordering copies as gifts to my peers for years to come. I feel like after having read Tim's book, I am already a better father.
