Sometimes the monsters leave, which makes everyone happy until new ones appear with their luggage. Would you believe that the dumbest one even has a pet log and is fond of crossword puzzles?

About the Author
Melinda Kinsman lives on a small peninsular called The Wirral, in North West England. She loves climbing mountains and rock-climbing (both abroad, and in her local mountains of Snowdonia), and she has always had a soft-spot for cuddly toys!
As Melinda has to lie down a lot each day, due to health issues, she spends most of that time using her iPad to write and illustrate her books. (Drawing can be especially challenging, as she needs to keep the iPad steady by balancing it with one leg up in the air - much to the amusement of her family!)
Melinda originally wrote a book of poems for her 6 year old niece a few years ago, but never dreamt of trying to publish them, or of trying to illustrate them herself. The advent of ebooks and handheld tablets now makes self-publishing an exciting possibility for her!
The Top of the Wardrobe Gang series of books are credited to both Melinda and a motley crew of cuddly toy characters. This bunch of cuddly toys live on the Top of the Wardrobe - they like to call this the "penthouse suite"! They enjoy reading, and want to try writing their own books. Most of the cartoon gang characters are based on "real" members of Melinda's cuddly toy family.

Monsters are messy, mischievous and of course, invisible to parents.

The Top of the Wardrobe Gang is back, with a humorous, rhyming solution to many common mysteries found in every child's home. There are trouble makers in the house and they live under the bed.
As the whole family enjoys the stories, parents may be surprised to discover that dirty foot prints and messes of every sort are actually the work of mischievous Monsters. While it's obvious to kids that Monsters make the messes, some interesting and fun conversations will result as this new information is shared.
The rhymes in each of Melinda Kinsman's books are funny and clever. The illustrations are comical and colorful and there are more mysteries and puzzles to solve with each new adventure. The Top of the Wardrobe Gang does it again. Five stars for fun!

`May you always look at the world with as much wonder as that first rainbow'

In this charmer of a book Melinda directs her rhyming stories and pictures to the age 3 - 7 readers. And as any fine mistress of ceremonies she first introduces her characters Old Soc, a member of the wardrobe gang and P.D, Monkey and of course Billy who has monsters who live under his bed. The monsters gather, label Billy's bed as their Den - a deed that makes buster the dog bark. The monsters nap during the day and cause problems with all the cuddly toys. One monster has a pet log and cuts out the crossword puzzle form the paper. A purple monster likes to knit socks, a green monster is deaf, the friendly monster always wants food, the blue monster takes long showers, the red monster bakes cakes and leaves a mess, and so on. The monsters are a messy problem gang.
Easy to read, fun to observe, the monsters are hilariously naughty. At books end Melinda offer learning games that are fun and very fine teaching lessons. In all this is a book children will love - for many reasons. Grady Harp, February 15

Monster Fun

The prolific Melinda Kinsman is back again with yet another charming book and it's quite possibly her best ever. The illustrations really caught my slugs' eyes as they're fun, colourful and are sure to appeal to non-slug lifeforms. What I love with Melinda's books is that there's a lot going on so you do get the fun rhyme that'll get the most uninterested little reader interested but you also get all the activities - which represents real value and as well as lots more fun. Some of my slugs had a simply wonderful time doing the spot the differences at the back, unfortunately they only found 5 till I helped them. A perfect book for young ones.
